Fax Via Internet

by Matt Gerchow
Now that you can fax via internet service you can throw the old fax machines in the garbage can. They are officially part of history.
Those facsimile machines dominated office and business communication for decades. Strangely, they have held on long past their prime.
Superior forms of communication, such as email, chat rooms and video conferencing came into existence decades ago but the fax machine has held its place in office spaces. Now the ability to fax via internet providers has finally made the old machines as expensive as they are bulky.
Businesses that elect to send a fax via internet connections do not have to pay for everything that was associated with the old facsimile machines. With the machine gone, they do not have to worry about repairs or about paying for toner and paper.
They do not have to train staff to use them. The system involved in sending faxes online is incredibly simple.
Best of all, businesses can get rid of their extra phone lines. Phone companies will not be happy about this but the public will be as businesses pass their savings on to customers.
This is not a situation in which a company replaces one technology with a new device that is more expensive. Sending a fax online does not require a new machine at all.
The technology to do this is already on the internet. Companies do not need to install expensive software either.
Every task crucial to sending a fax successfully is carried out online. Businesses will have to figure out what to do with all the money they will save sending every fax via internet servers.
They will also have extra space in their offices where the facsimile machines once sat. They can move one step closer to the wireless world of the future.
